Why Build a New Campus?
Much of our current campus has been in place since 1955. In the 70 years since then, many additions have been made.
While we’ve been good stewards of our building, we’ve reached a point where it is more expensive to repair and update the current building. It is also difficult to accommodate today’s technology needed to support our students’ academic goals. Lastly, our current campus is landlocked, which limits our ability to expand and provide extracurricular activities on the campus. A new campus will provide modern facilities that reflect and support the exceptional education offered by WLA.
In 2020, the Plenary Board of Winnebago Lutheran Academy unanimously approved the purchase of 122 acres of land on Highway 23, a location that makes our school accessible to more communities. Between that time and 2022, we partnered with supporters who share our faith in the value of Christian education to fund that purchase and are pleased to report we now own the property, debt-free.
